Today’s El País features an article on With the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, the short silent documentary by Henri Cartier-Bresson that was recently found by Juan Salas in the ALBA collection at New York University’s Tamiment Library, restored by Alice Moscoso and her team at the Barbara Goldsmith Preservation and Conservation Department at NYU Libraries, and screened at this year’s Orphan Film Symposium. The film will be screened at the Filmoteca Española later this month. See also the recent Leonard Lopate coverage of this topic. A clip of the film can be viewed here. See also our coverage of Juan Salas’ discovery of Capa/Tara footage in the Cartier-Bresson film. A selection of Cartier-Bresson’s photography is currently on display at the MoMA in New York.
