IB Park at Benissa inaugurated
Robert Llopis reports on the inauguration of the “Parc Dels Internacionals,” dedicated to the International Brigades, at Benissa this past October 30th as part of the Homage to the IB, in the presence of a representative of the City of Benissa, Irene Filip from the Dokumentationsarchiv des österreichischen Widerstandes (Archive of the Austrian Resistance, DÖW), who is also the daughter of a vet, and Robert himself for the Casa Cultural de Benissa-ACPV, which had organized the initiative. Benissa was the site of an IB hospital and children’s home; the grave of the ten volunteers who died there is marked with a large granite tombstone. Click here for photos of the event.
